If you or someone you love has been involved in a crash, here are several things to keep in mind about common car accident injuries:
- Whiplash: One of the most frequent injuries from rear-end crashes, whiplash causes neck pain, stiffness, and reduced range of motion. It may take days or weeks for symptoms to show.
- Concussions and Head Injuries: Even with airbags, head trauma can occur. Victims may experience confusion, headaches, or memory loss, which should always be evaluated by a medical professional.
- Back and Spinal Injuries: These injuries range from mild strains to herniated discs or more severe spinal cord damage. Pain or numbness in the limbs could be a sign of something more serious.
- Broken Bones: Collisions often result in fractured arms, ribs, or legs. Recovery time can vary, and some breaks may require surgery or long-term therapy.
- Soft Tissue Damage: Damage to ligaments, tendons, and muscles may not be visible but can lead to lingering pain and mobility issues.
