Car Accidents in Utah
Utah roads saw more than 61,000 car crashes in 2023, many of which occurred in urban areas like Salt Lake City. Incidents that happen late at night often involve additional risk factors such as fatigue, impaired driving, or reduced visibility. These types of accidents can leave lasting impacts, both physically and emotionally, for those involved.
One key area that many crash victims face difficulty with is the disruption to financial stability. Here’s how that frequently plays out:
- Missed Wages: Time spent in recovery or attending medical appointments often means missing work. For hourly employees or small business owners, even a few days can lead to financial strain.
- Unexpected Medical Costs: ER visits, scans, medications, and therapy appointments can quickly add up—even for those with insurance. Bills often arrive before full healing has occurred.
- Transportation Expenses: Replacing or repairing a damaged vehicle can be costly, especially when insurance doesn’t cover the full value. Victims may also need to rent a vehicle, take public transportation, or rely on ride-share services.
- Increased Household Costs: A crash may mean hiring outside help for housework, childcare, or physical assistance. These out-of-pocket expenses are rarely reimbursed without legal support.
