Herriman, UT (July 7, 2025) – A Saturday night turned chaotic when an SUV involved in a three-vehicle crash barreled into a Domino’s Pizza on 13400 South in Herriman, rupturing a gas line that led to a fiery explosion. On July 5, two people inside the SUV were rescued by brave bystanders moments before flames engulfed the vehicle. Unified Fire Authority crews were already on the scene battling the blaze when the explosion sent debris into the air.
According to the city of Riverton, no one was inside the building when the accident happened, sparing any further tragedy. Several people hurt in the multi-vehicle collision were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Thankfully, none of the firefighters working near the blast were injured. The force of the crash and subsequent explosion destroyed the Domino’s Pizza and caused severe damage to neighboring businesses, Jimmy John’s and Supercuts. Officials said the cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
We extend our thoughts to those injured and hope they heal quickly.
Car Accidents in Utah
Here in Utah, motor vehicle accidents remain a significant concern for drivers and pedestrians alike. According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, thousands of people are hurt each year in crashes across our state’s highways and city streets. Even a minor accident can lead to life-changing injuries and financial burdens. Staying informed about your rights and local accident trends can help protect you and your loved ones when you’re on the road.
When it comes to car accidents in Utah, it’s vital to understand some of the key points that could affect your recovery:
- Injury Types: Car accidents often result in a range of injuries, from whiplash and broken bones to traumatic brain injuries. Even low-speed crashes can cause hidden injuries that appear days later. Always get a thorough medical evaluation after any collision to catch issues early and start proper treatment.
- Property Damage: Beyond injuries, accidents can leave victims dealing with costly vehicle repairs or replacements. Insurance companies may not always cover the full value, so documenting damage and keeping receipts is important when seeking fair compensation.
- Medical Expenses: Medical bills add up fast, especially when ongoing care or surgery is needed. Understanding your insurance and any available coverage, such as personal injury protection, can ease the financial strain while you heal.
- Lost Wages: Many victims miss work due to injuries, doctor visits, or recovery time. Keeping detailed records of time missed and pay stubs can support your claim for lost income, ensuring you are not left struggling financially.
