Car Accidents in Utah
Each year in Utah, thousands of crashes occur on residential and city streets just like 1200 East. The Utah Department of Public Safety notes that many mid-morning crashes involve errand-running drivers, local delivery vehicles, and individuals commuting between appointments. These types of accidents frequently involve failure to yield or distracted driving.
Understanding how different types of injuries can affect your case and recovery is crucial. Here are several commonly reported injuries following vehicle collisions:
- Whiplash: A common neck injury caused by sudden motion. Whiplash symptoms often develop over hours or days and may require physical therapy and medication.
- Back and Spine Injuries: These range from soft tissue strain to disc herniation. Long-term care or surgery may be necessary, depending on severity.
- Broken Bones: High-impact crashes can cause fractures, especially in the arms, legs, and ribs. Recovery may require casting, rehabilitation, or even surgery.
- Concussions and Brain Trauma: Even with seatbelt use and airbags, head injuries can occur. Symptoms may include headaches, dizziness, and memory issues.
- Internal Injuries: Not all injuries are visible. Internal bleeding, organ damage, or bruising may not be detected without immediate medical evaluation.
