Bonneville Salt Flats Racing Accident Causes Driver’s Passing

What was supposed to be an exciting event, this year’s Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats, ended in a tragedy for the loved ones of Chris Radke. A part of the Speed Demon team, Chris Radke, was a 60 year old driver. He’d been working in the motor sports industry for over 40 years. He was known for racing, and during last year’s Speed Week he helped the team win their 12th Hot Rod Magazine Trophy.

While Chris was at the Bonneville Salt Flats, he was attempting to break a speed record. He was on the 2 ½ mile mark, at 3:30pm, when he lost control of his vehicle.

After the accident, paramedics rushed to help Mr. Radke, but his injuries were too severe, and he passed away.
