Cedar City, UT (May 2, 2025) – A high-speed crash in the early hours of Wednesday morning, April 30, sent two people to the hospital after a vehicle left the roadway and crashed through a fence in Cedar City. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near 2800 West on State Route 56.
According to Sgt. Bryan Moore of the Cedar City Police Department, a blue Honda Civic was traveling east at high speeds when the driver lost control. The vehicle reportedly crossed into oncoming lanes before veering north off the road, smashing through a chain-link fence and slamming into a parked utility trailer. The car also struck multiple unoccupied, parked vehicles in the area.
Emergency crews, including Cedar City Fire, Utah Highway Patrol, and the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene. The driver of the Civic was taken to Cedar City Hospital via Gold Cross Ambulance. A passenger in the vehicle sustained more serious injuries and was flown by Intermountain Life Flight to St. George Regional Hospital for emergency care. Utah Highway Patrol troopers conducted scene measurements as part of a detailed accident reconstruction. The crash remains under investigation, and officials have not released the names of those involved.
