Car Accidents in Utah
Utah’s highways, including Interstate 15, account for a large number of the state’s nearly 61,000 annual motor vehicle collisions. Speed, traffic congestion, and sudden lane changes are all contributing factors to crashes along major roadways like I-15. For many people, the physical impact is only part of the story—auto wrecks often have deeper consequences that can stretch on for months.
A particularly difficult area of recovery for many victims is their sleep and overall rest cycle. Here’s why:
- Pain and Discomfort: Injuries like whiplash, fractures, or back trauma can make it nearly impossible to sleep comfortably. Many victims find themselves waking frequently or sleeping in short bursts.
- Mental Restlessness: Anxiety and stress from the crash or from upcoming treatments can leave the mind racing, making it difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep.
- Disruption to Routine: Injured individuals may need to sleep at different times or use new medication schedules, making it hard to maintain a stable rest pattern.
- Sleep Dependency: Pain medications and sleep aids, while helpful short-term, can lead to reliance. Over time, this makes it harder to return to natural sleep without assistance.
