Lehi, UT (May 25, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle crash involving a cement truck, a semi-truck, and an SUV took place just before noon on Friday, May 23, in Lehi. The crash occurred near the intersection of Mill Pond Road and Pioneer Crossing and resulted in significant damage, and one person was seriously injured.
According to Lehi Police, a cement truck collided with a semi-truck, causing the semi to veer into oncoming traffic and crash into an SUV. The force of the impact caused the cement truck to roll over onto its side, blocking lanes and creating a substantial emergency response.
The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where they remain in stable condition. Photos from the scene show the cement truck overturned and debris scattered along the roadway. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
Car Accidents in Utah
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, thousands of motor vehicle crashes occur across Utah every year. Crashes involving commercial vehicles such as cement or semi trucks can be especially hazardous due to their size and weight. These collisions often lead to significant injuries, extended road closures, and complex liability issues.
Victims of serious crashes like this often face life-altering consequences. Here are some of the long-term impacts people may experience:
- Extended Medical Treatment: Serious injuries often require multiple surgeries, physical therapy, and ongoing monitoring. Recovery may take months or even years, with some victims never regaining full mobility or comfort.
- Permanent Disabilities: When spinal injuries, head trauma, or internal damage occur, long-term disabilities may result. These can affect a person’s ability to work or live independently, requiring future medical planning.
- Loss of Income: Victims may miss substantial time at work during recovery. In some cases, they may not be able to return to their previous role, especially in physically demanding professions.
- Vehicle Replacement and Financial Strain: Crashes involving large trucks often total passenger vehicles. Insurance may not cover the full cost of a replacement, and victims may struggle with out-of-pocket expenses.
- Mental Health Struggles: Experiencing a major crash can lead to anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Counseling and therapy may be necessary to process trauma and adjust to life after the accident.
