Lehi, UT (June 12, 2025) – On the evening of June 11, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle crash on West Hudson Way in Lehi that resulted in injuries and a prolonged road closure.
Lehi Fire Department received the call just after 7:23 p.m. and remained on scene for over an hour. First responders provided immediate care to the injured and worked to safely remove damaged vehicles from the area. At least one person was hurt in the crash and transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The roadway was closed for approximately 75 minutes while officials managed the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation. The area has since reopened, though officials are still working to determine what led to the incident.
We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
Car Accidents in Utah
Every week, emergency responders across Utah are called to the scenes of injury crashes, many of which occur in residential and connector roadways like West Hudson Way. These areas can become hotspots for evening collisions due to rush-hour traffic and limited visibility. While officials continue to work on statewide traffic initiatives, the human impact of these crashes remains significant.
When it comes to post-accident recovery, financial strain is a major concern for many families. Here’s what to know about the costs you might face:
- Emergency Medical Care: Ambulance transport, ER visits, imaging, and early treatment can cost thousands of dollars—often before insurance is processed. These immediate costs can pile up quickly for uninsured or underinsured individuals.
- Ongoing Rehabilitation: Injuries like broken bones or back issues often require follow-up care, physical therapy, or specialist visits. These treatments are crucial for healing but can stretch over months, adding additional costs.
- Lost Wages: Time away from work due to medical appointments, recovery, or disability can severely impact a household’s income. In some cases, accident victims are forced to take unpaid leave or miss job opportunities.
- Vehicle Repair or Replacement: Depending on the damage, insurance might not cover full repair or replacement costs—especially with rising car values. Out-of-pocket repair bills can add financial stress after a crash.
- Hidden Expenses: Costs like childcare during appointments, travel for treatment, and increased household needs (such as mobility aids) can add up. Many families overlook these secondary burdens until they become overwhelming.
