Car Accidents in Utah
Across Utah, accidents are a persistent issue on high-traffic corridors such as Timpanogos Highway. The Utah Department of Public Safety reports that crashes are most common during afternoon hours, with thousands of incidents causing injuries each year. These accidents often involve lane changes, left turns, or rear-end impacts.
Knowing how to protect yourself legally and financially after an accident can make a big difference. Here are several tips for what to do immediately following a crash:
- Move to Safety: If your vehicle is operable and it’s safe, move it out of traffic to prevent additional collisions or injuries.
- Call 911 Immediately: Even if injuries seem minor, it’s important to have law enforcement and medical personnel respond and document the incident.
- Exchange Information: Share insurance and contact details with the other party, but avoid making statements about fault at the scene.
- Take Photos: Document damage, road conditions, license plates, and any visible injuries. These can support your case later.
- Seek Medical Care Even If You Feel Okay: Injuries like whiplash or internal bruising might not show symptoms right away. A timely medical evaluation protects your health and your claim.
If you or someone you love was hurt in a crash, don’t wait to speak with a trusted car accident attorney in Lehi. Insurance companies often move quickly to protect their bottom line, but an experienced attorney can ensure you’re not left with medical bills and repair costs. They will handle paperwork, negotiations, and represent your best interests every step of the way.
