Logan, UT - Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-252 Injures Elderly Driver

Logan, UT (August 31, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment took place on Saturday, August 30, along North State Route 252 near the intersection with 200 North 10th West in Logan. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. and prompted a major emergency response.

According to Cache County Public Safety, a black Chevrolet Impala collided with another vehicle in the middle of the intersection. One of the drivers, a 75-year-old man, was trapped inside the Impala with a jammed door and was reported to be struggling to breathe. Emergency crews quickly arrived on the scene, blocked traffic in all directions, and worked to extract the man from the vehicle.

Rescue 72 and Engine 72 assisted with the extrication while medical teams stabilized the victim before transporting him to Logan Regional Hospital. Other individuals involved in the crash were evaluated, though no additional hospitalizations were confirmed at the time. The intersection remained blocked during rescue operations, causing temporary delays in the area.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we hope for his full and speedy recovery.

Car Accidents in Utah

Logan, UT - Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-252 Injures Elderly DriverAccording to the Utah Department of Public Safety, crashes involving elderly drivers and vehicle entrapment are particularly dangerous and require rapid intervention. Intersections along state highways—such as SR-252 in Logan—are frequent sites of serious collisions due to higher speeds and heavy traffic. Emergency responses often involve multiple agencies, especially when a victim is trapped.

When vehicle entrapment occurs after a crash, victims and their families may face a unique set of challenges:

  • Delayed Rescue: Barricaded doors, crushed frames, or overturned vehicles can delay extraction and increase the risk of medical complications for trapped individuals.
  • Respiratory Distress: Being pinned inside a vehicle—especially for older adults—can lead to panic, shortness of breath, or worsening of preexisting conditions.
  • Emergency Traffic Control: Crews often must shut down entire intersections, redirecting traffic and making the scene more hazardous for first responders.
  • Physical Trauma: Entrapment is often associated with chest injuries, broken ribs, internal bleeding, or spinal trauma, requiring advanced care and monitoring.
  • Increased Recovery Time: Elderly crash victims typically take longer to recover and may face extended rehabilitation or assisted care afterward.
  • Stress for Family Members: These high-stakes situations can be emotionally taxing for loved ones who must quickly navigate hospital visits, insurance claims, and legal decisions.

If you or your loved one has been injured in a crash like this, don’t wait—speak to a Logan car accident attorney as soon as possible. Timely legal help can ensure your medical expenses are covered, accident evidence is preserved, and your rights are protected during the claims process.
