Recently, Hyrum Gurrola, an employee at Flickinger Boulton Robson Weeks, was able to participate in a Fellowship Trip sponsored by NAACP and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The purpose of this service trip was to provide the Ghanaian people with care and foster cultural exchange. The Fellow Ambassadors were able to serve and learn about the history of Ghana and its people. This partnership between different cultures allows for a broader reach and greater impact when addressing the needs in Ghana.
Flickinger Boulton Robson Weeks were able to donate to the fellowship. The donations went toward fostering service, funding hygiene kits, school supplies, and food. These contributions, and those from other ambassadors and local church leaders, were able to affect 300-500 of those in the Ghanaian community.

During the service trip, the Fellowship Ambassadors were able to meet people from Accra, Ashanti (Kumasi), & Cape Coast. This meant that they were able to see many different traditions and cultures.
Gurrola stated that “the local community expressed deeper gratitude and excitement as supplies were distributed. Their reactions reinforced the importance of such initiatives, showcasing the genuine need for support and the impact of collaboration.”
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP, began in 1908, after the horrific Springfield riot. According to their website, their mission is “to ensure the political, educational, equality of minority group citizens of States and eliminate race prejudice. The NAACP works to remove all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes”.
