MURRAY HIT-AND-RUN-It was late in the night on July 31, just barely after 11 p.m., when 53-year-old Kimberly Jespersen was crossing the street. At the intersection of State Street and 4500 South in Murray, Ms. Jespersen had just entered the crosswalk. Footage of the collision showed that Ms. Jespersen was clipped by one vehicle making a left turn. That vehicle had paused in the intersection, when just a few moments later, a truck entered the roadway. That truck swerved in order to miss the first vehicle, and ended up hitting Ms. Jespersen.
Both of the drivers left the scene, and Ms. Jespersen was left in critical care, and after being transported to the hospital, she died of her injuries. Ms. Jespersen left behind a family who love and miss her. Her family is asking for any information about the drivers or for the drivers themselves to come forward.

Hit-and-Run Crashes in Utah
Drivers are required to remain at the scene of a crash by Utah law. If you do not stop and provide aid to a victim of a hit-and-run, you may be charged with a criminal offense. If you or a loved one are involved in a hit and run case, or worse the accident results in a wrongful death, you are due compensation.
After a pedestrian hit and run, there are a few things that you should do. First, seek out immediate medical attention. Once you are able to, you should contact the police, then contact your insurance company, and see if you can find any witnesses. Document that accident as much as you can, whether you write down all the details you can remember, have your witnesses provide statements, or get footage from traffic cameras.
