Car Accidents in Utah
Every year in Utah, thousands of individuals are injured in vehicle crashes—many of them occurring during rush hours on busy residential roads. While weather and road design can contribute to crashes, most are caused by driver behaviors such as speeding, inattention, or failure to yield. The impact of a crash often extends well beyond the day of the accident.

In many cases, people are unsure what to do after a crash. Below is a helpful guide on what you should avoid doing in the aftermath of an accident:
- Do Not Leave the Scene: Leaving the site of an accident, even if it seems minor, can result in legal penalties. Stay until law enforcement arrives, and be sure to exchange information with other drivers.
- Avoid Admitting Fault: Even casual remarks like “I’m sorry” may be interpreted as an admission of guilt. It’s best to let investigators determine who was at fault.
- Do Not Skip Medical Care: Some injuries take time to show symptoms. Failing to seek medical attention right away can hurt both your health and your claim. Always get checked out, even if you feel fine.
- Don’t Talk to Insurance Without Guidance: Insurers may pressure you into giving a recorded statement or accepting a quick settlement. Speak with a lawyer first to make sure you understand your rights.
- Avoid Posting on Social Media: Insurance companies may use your online posts to challenge the severity of your injuries. Keep accident-related updates offline while your case is active.
