After an accident, life can shift dramatically. Many victims are faced with hurdles they never expected. Here’s a breakdown of common injury types linked to motor vehicle crashes:
- Head Injuries and Concussions: These often result from the violent jolts that come with impact. Even with seatbelts and airbags, concussions can cause lasting symptoms, including headaches, confusion, and memory problems.
- Whiplash and Neck Strain: A common injury in rear-end crashes, whiplash can take weeks or months to heal. It may involve chronic pain, stiffness, and difficulty performing daily tasks.
- Fractures and Broken Bones: Arms, legs, ribs, and even the pelvis are commonly broken in more forceful crashes. These injuries typically require casts, physical therapy, or even surgery to recover fully.
- Spinal Cord and Back Injuries: Damage to the spine or vertebrae can cause nerve pain, mobility issues, and in severe cases, permanent disability. These injuries are often life-altering and require long-term medical support.
Anyone injured in a car crash should contact a car accident attorney as soon as possible. Legal support ensures that your rights are protected and your needs are fairly represented during insurance claims and settlement negotiations.
