Salt Lake City, UT (June 1, 2025) – Late Thursday night, May 29, a man lost his life after being struck by an SUV in Salt Lake City. The accident took place just before 11:45 p.m. at the intersection of 500 South and State Street.
Authorities reported that the 46-year-old man was crossing 500 South outside of a designated crosswalk when he was hit by a northbound SUV traveling through a green light. The driver of the SUV, along with three passengers, stayed at the scene and cooperated fully with police. Officers noted that the driver showed no signs of impairment, and no citations or arrests were issued.
Another driver who witnessed the crash also spoke with police as part of the ongoing investigation. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials stated that his identity would be released after his family had been notified.
