Salt Lake City, UT (August 6, 2025) A vehicle flipped during a late night collision on Monday, August 5, at approximately 11:37 p.m. near the intersection of South 300 West and West 500 South in Salt Lake City. The crash resulted in multiple injuries and drew a significant response from emergency services.
According to initial reports, at least two vehicles were involved in the incident. One of the vehicles overturned during the crash, landing on its side or roof and trapping occupants inside. Bystanders quickly called 911, and emergency crews from Salt Lake City Fire and EMS rushed to the scene.
First responders provided immediate medical assistance to the injured. Several individuals were evaluated and stabilized before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed publicly, but authorities indicated that none appeared to be life-threatening at the time of transport.
Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department secured the scene and began an investigation into the cause of the rollover. Investigators are considering a number of factors, including speed, possible impairment, distraction, and failure to yield. They are also working to determine the role of each driver involved and whether any citations will be issued.
Traffic near the busy downtown intersection was temporarily disrupted as emergency crews worked to extricate injured parties and remove the flipped vehicle from the roadway. Cleanup efforts lasted over an hour, with normal traffic flow resuming just after 1:00 a.m.
We extend our well wishes for a full and swift recovery to all individuals hurt in this serious late-night collision.
Rollover Accidents in Salt Lake City
Vehicle rollovers are some of the most violent types of car accidents and often result in severe injuries. These crashes are commonly caused by speeding, sharp turns, sudden swerves, or collisions that impact a vehicle’s balance, especially in high traffic urban areas like Salt Lake City. The risk of ejection or trauma increases dramatically when a vehicle flips over.
Even if injuries seem minor initially, crash victims often face long term physical complications, time away from work, and emotional stress. Medical bills and car repair costs can accumulate quickly, especially for those without strong insurance coverage.
