Car Accidents in Utah
St. George is one of Utah’s fastest-growing cities, and with that growth comes heavier traffic and an increased risk of crashes. Riverside Drive is a busy corridor, especially during evening hours. Statewide, over 25,000 people are injured in car accidents each year, and city streets like those in St. George often see a higher concentration of crashes due to congestion, intersections, and turning vehicles.
After an accident, it’s crucial to understand your options regarding compensation for injuries. One area many overlook is how medical expenses are handled:
- Emergency Room Visits and Immediate Care: Most accident victims are transported to the hospital by ambulance and treated in the emergency room. These costs are often substantial and may not be fully covered by health insurance—especially if liability is still under investigation.
- Follow-Up Appointments and Therapy: Injuries may require weeks or months of treatment. Physical therapy, chiropractic care, and pain management are common and can add up quickly. Victims may face co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses that become overwhelming without legal assistance.
- Imaging and Diagnostic Tests: MRIs, CT scans, and X-rays are frequently necessary to identify hidden injuries. These high-cost procedures are essential but may not be reimbursed fully without thorough documentation and legal support.
- Prescription Medications and Medical Equipment: Pain relief, inflammation control, or muscle relaxants may be prescribed. In some cases, braces, walkers, or other assistive devices are needed, further adding to the medical burden.
- Long-Term or Permanent Care: For serious injuries like spinal damage or traumatic brain injury, care needs can extend into the future. A strong legal claim ensures that ongoing medical needs are accounted for and compensated appropriately.
