St. George, UT (March 23, 2025) – One driver was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in St. George on the morning of March 21. The accident took place shortly before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Snow Canyon Parkway and West 2000 North and involved a red Mazda sedan and a dark-blue Subaru.
According to St. George Police Officer Tiffany Mitchell, the Mazda was heading north on Snow Canyon Parkway and attempted to turn left onto West 2000 North. As the sedan entered the intersection, it collided with an eastbound Subaru traveling through the crossing. The Subaru struck the passenger side of the Mazda with enough force to deploy the airbags in both vehicles and leave both cars inoperable.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and found the driver of the Mazda with minor injuries, including cuts and bruises. He was transported to St. George Regional Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Police units redirected traffic while the scene was cleared and both vehicles were towed.
We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
Car Accidents in Utah
Intersections like Snow Canyon Parkway and 2000 North are frequent sites of crashes in Utah. With more than 25,000 injury accidents reported each year statewide, left-hand turns continue to be a leading cause of crashes, especially when drivers misjudge gaps in traffic or have limited visibility.

These types of crashes often lead to several common injuries. Here’s what victims and their families should know:
- Airbag Injuries: While airbags save lives, they can cause abrasions, bruises, and even burns upon deployment. Chest and facial injuries are common due to the force of inflation.
- Whiplash and Neck Strain: Sudden impact can cause the head to jerk violently, leading to neck injuries that may take weeks to heal. Even low-speed crashes can cause whiplash.
- Soft Tissue Damage: Sprains and muscle strains are frequent in side-impact crashes. These injuries often cause lingering pain and reduced mobility.
- Cuts and Lacerations: Broken glass or sharp interior components can lead to surface injuries. Although not life-threatening, these wounds can require stitches or leave scars.
- Emotional Distress: Even when physical injuries are minor, crash victims may struggle with fear, anxiety, or post-accident stress that affects their daily routine and quality of life.
