St. George, UT (March 13, 2025) – A 75-year-old man was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision on Red Hills Parkway near the Red Cliffs Mall on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash took place just before 3 p.m. when the older man, driving a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Red Hills Parkway, approached the intersection of Gateway Drive. Surveillance footage from CollisionCam reportedly captured the SUV veering left as it entered the intersection, leading to a head-on collision with a 2013 Toyota Camry.
The Toyota, driven by a 41-year-old man, was stopped in the southbound left-turn lane when it was struck. Emergency medical personnel responded, treating the Jeep’s driver for chest pain before transporting him to St. George Regional Hospital. The driver of the Camry declined medical treatment.
According to St. George Police Public Information Officer Tiffany Mitchell, the SUV driver was cited for improper lane travel. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish him a smooth recovery.
Car Accidents in Utah
Utah roadways see thousands of accidents each year, with many resulting in injuries. Contributing factors such as distracted driving, speeding, and failure to yield are among the most common causes. Understanding these risks can help drivers make safer choices behind the wheel.

Some of the most frequent accident-related injuries include:
- Whiplash and Soft Tissue Injuries: Sudden impacts often cause neck and back injuries, leading to pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. These injuries can take weeks or months to heal.
- Broken Bones: The force of a collision can lead to fractures, which may require surgery and long-term recovery.
- Head Injuries: Concussions and traumatic brain injuries can occur even in minor crashes, potentially affecting memory, concentration, and daily functioning.
- Internal Injuries: Damage to internal organs may not be immediately visible but can be life-threatening without prompt medical attention.
- Lacerations and Bruises: Broken glass, airbag deployment, and impact with hard surfaces inside a vehicle can cause cuts and bruises that require medical treatment.
