Taylorsville, UT (February 27, 2025) – A high-speed chase in Taylorsville on Wednesday evening led to a serious crash involving multiple vehicles, sending several people to the hospital.
According to Sgt. Jacob Palmer of the Taylorsville Police Department, the incident began when a detective investigating a theft spotted the suspect in a white Dodge Ram in Salt Lake City. An attempt to pull over the vehicle resulted in the driver fleeing. Authorities initially lost sight of the truck but later located it in a parking lot. Officers requested aerial assistance from the Department of Public Safety to monitor the suspect’s movements.
As the Ram left the parking lot, police deployed spike strips at 700 W 900 S in an effort to stop the vehicle. However, the driver continued to flee. While attempting to evade authorities, the suspect ran a red light at 900 S Main Street and crashed into another vehicle. The impact caused the truck to flip onto its side and strike the front of a Utah Transit Authority bus.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the suspect and a female passenger to the hospital with minor injuries. Other individuals involved in the crash were also taken to the hospital for evaluation. Authorities confirmed that after receiving medical clearance, the suspect will be booked into the Salt Lake County Jail. Investigators continue to gather details about the case.
