Utah has some of the most gorgeous landscape, from the majestic mountains to the sparkling lakes. And everyone knows the best way to look at nature is up close. With all the walking trails around Utah, there are so many paths to view the beauty.
One of the most beloved walking and biking trails in Utah is the Utah Lake Shoreline Trail. Starting in Vineyard, the path is planned to eventually go completely around the lake. Currently, the path ends around the Lindon Marina. The path extends for 2.8 miles, for a round trip of 4.9 miles and would take about an hour and a half to walk.
At the start of the trail, is a park, which includes restrooms, pavilions, a sand playground, and a wide grassy area to play on. You can walk, bike, or skate on the trail, but motorized vehicles, including ebikes, are prohibited. This is to protect others on the trails from the high speeds.
As you walk the trail, you will pass the shores of Utah Lake. There are a few access points along the way to get to the lake, one of which is Vineyard Beach. Here, you can stop at covered picnic tables, or drop boats and paddle boards, for fishing and other activities. The trail is paved the whole way, and parts of it run behind homes and apartments, while some of it is next to N Vineyard Road. As you are walking with your children and pets, you should be careful on this part of the route.
According to the Utah Lake Authority, they are working to “make a continuous trail system that circles the entire lake”. You can check out their website for more information about the current projects and extensions.
